Dear Walla Walla Catholic School families,
”Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.”
- Philippians 3:13-14
I have come back to this verse from St. Paul’s letter to the Philippians on numerous occasions these last several months as we have attempted to “win the prize” and move forward with education and faith formation for our students and families at WWCS. In a special way this past week, I have been affirmed by all the work of Father Seidel and our staff in that pursuit as I witnessed the return of families and students for orientations at Assumption. If we at the WWCS ever entertained the thought that what we provide for our students and families is routine or underappreciated in any way, those worries can be put to rest by what we all witnessed this week with our orientations. The energy, excitement, and appreciation of students, parents and teachers back to work in our buildings made all the trials and tribulations over the last 5 months worth it. We will undoubtedly face more uncertainty and challenges as we progress. But keeping our focus on “winning the prize” will help continue to move our schools and school community forward.
We at the WWCS ask that you please accept our deep sense of gratitude that we have for all of you!
