Dear Walla Walla Catholic School families,
It has been a uniquely interesting summer. I do hope you and your family were able to relax and enjoy some time together. Our staff and I can’t wait to be back and have the opportunity to interact with students, families and each other. We greatly appreciate all your patience and companionship as we move forward during this time. Below are a few reminders as we begin our school year.

WWCS Remote Learning Plan
Our remote learning is set up so as to transition seamlessly to the education modality we will be in—in-person learning, modified in-person learning, or totally remote. Teachers will provide more information specific to their classes. Even with in-person instruction, teachers will prepare students for the use of remote instruction. As a school and individually, teachers have worked diligently to improve their skills and delivery of instruction. There will be much continued growth in the area of remote learning for all of us, and we will continue to review and evaluate our remote learning instruction and delivery and adjust accordingly.
Health and Safety
During this time of COVID-19, nothing has been more important than the planning involved for the health and safety of our students, staff and families. Our safety procedures and protocols have been identified in
our Reopening Plan. In addition, we will provide updates and review protocols as it becomes necessary. As is mentioned in the plan, it is imperative that our families assist us in providing the safest schools we can. While we have worked to provide thoroughness and detail in the plan, real time situations are often not as clearly defined. In those cases, we will make the best decisions possible based on guidelines, but will err on the side of caution in keeping our buildings safe for all.
We presume this will cause some degree of inconvenience for families regarding illness, health screening, exposure and possible contact of COVID-19. It may also require keeping students home or students being sent home from school. These measures will not only help keep us all as healthy as possible, but will also allow us to stay consistent with school remaining open and not being required to quarantine or move back and forth between in-person instruction and remote learning.
Health Screening Checks
All students, staff and parents entering our buildings will be required to complete Health Screening Checks, including temperature checks on site. Skyward, our Administrative program, within the last week made available a Health Screening program we will be using. Having all student data and information in one program was a priority to assist parents and the school in consistency and coordination. We will be sending instructions for attestation on Skyward within the next couple of days.
Entering School Buildings
As a reminder, when entering any of our buildings, Health Screening checks, Masks and Social Distancing are required for all persons.
Traveling
Currently, there are no quarantine restrictions for our state regarding travel. However, we ask for your discretion if traveling to high risk areas and regarding the return of your child to school for the health and safety of all.
