Dear Walla Walla Catholic School Families,
With the threat of inclement weather this week, we ask that you please review the information below regarding potential weather-related delays or closures. Note that, in the event of a delay or closure, you will be notified via our "One Call Now" emergency system. Our goal in the event of severe weather is to make decisions about school closures or delays by 6:00 AM. If a 2-hour delay is decided, please be sure to stay tuned in case we need to move to a full school closure.
Weather-related Delayed Start
If we decide to do a 2-hour delay, both Assumption and DeSales would start at 10:00 AM and the day would end at the normal dismissal times. Generally, on 2-hour delay there will be no AM Pre-K classes. If a 2-hour delay is decided, please be sure to stay tuned in case we move to a full school closure. Click the button below to view the detailed 2-hour delay schedule for DeSales grades 7-12. Note that there will be no zero mod classes, the day will begin with first mod.
We understand the challenges created with 2-hour delays and transportation, but for supervision purposes we do request that students arrive no earlier than 9:45 AM for the 10:00 AM start time. If your child must be dropped off prior to this time, please let us know so that we can provide proper supervision.
We always have the safety of our families in mind, and we appreciate that some driving conditions will require extra caution. We realize that parents may need additional time to transport students to school, or that parents may determine driving conditions too treacherous to allow for students to attend school or sports practices at all during a particular day. These decisions are always ultimately up to the parents.
It is possible that the winter weather will continue to be relatively calm, and that we will not need to engage in any alternate schedule. But, we are confident knowing that we have a good plan in place if necessary. Thank you for your continued cooperation and patience as we work to keep our students and families safe.
