July 22, 2021
WWCS Summer Update
Dear WWCS F
There is only one month left before the start of the 2021-22 school year! Remember that the first day of school is scheduled for Monday, August 23. If you would like to view the 2021-22 Academic Calendar,
In this brief message, we want to announce our new faculty members for this year, and also to provide you with a few small updates regarding the dress code for Assumption students.
Dear WWCS F
New Faculty Members for 2021-22 School Year
- MS and HS Art
Craig will be teaching our Middle School and High School Art classes this year! Craig earned his A.A. degree from Wenatchee Valley College, his B.A. from Central Washington University, and his Graduate degree from Eastern Washington University. Craig has had over forty years of teaching experience working in the Rosalia, Grant, and Mount Vernon school districts during his career. We are so pleased that Craig is willing to share his skills and experience with us at WWCS for the benefit of our students!
- Freshmen History and AP History
Claire will be teaching our Freshman history courses as well as Advanced Placement history courses this year! Claire brings with her a rich educational background, holding degrees from Harvard and Oxford, including a Ph.D in History. She has several years of teaching experience, teaching at University of Portland, Whitman College, and at Walla Walla Community College. Claire has served on the WWCS Board for six years, and she currently has two children at DeSales who both started at the WWCS in Kindergarten. We are thrilled to have Claire Valente join our faculty for the 2021-22 school year! We are confident that her passion for history and for Catholic education will positively impact our school and our students.
Assumption Uniform Information
During the first week of August, we will share the updated Assumption Uniform Policy. Before then though, we wanted to make you aware of a couple of adjustments regarding school clothing for Assumption students.
While skirts, pants, and shorts will still be available to wear in khaki and navy blue, skorts may only be plaid and must be purchased from Lands End. We will provide a specific code for you in early August.
Maize polo shirts:
We are phasing out the Maize (yellow) polo for our tops.
We will provide ordering information for school sweatshirts and pullovers for Assumption students. The school sweatshirts and pullovers may only be ordered through our school option.
If you are purchasing shoes, please remember that closed-toe and closed-back shoes are required for all Assumption students.
